3–5 Gallon Barreled Water Filling Machine

This integrated machine incorporates full-automatic external brushing, internal washing & sanitizing, filling, capping, shrink sealing and palletizing functions. Constructed with food-grade stainless steel and controlled by a full-automatic PLC system, it supports multi-stage internal washing options including high-temperature sanitization, ozone disinfection and chlorine dioxide rinsing. Featuring high filling accuracy and reliable capping sealing performance, its production capacity ranges from 100 to 2,000 barrels per hour.

The unit can operate standalone or be combined with water treatment, light inspection, bagging and palletizing equipment to form a fully automatic production line. We also provide complete turnkey factory projects covering raw water treatment through finished product delivery from the warehouse.

Detailed Description

The 3–5 gallon barreled water filling production line manufactured by Anhui Najie is designed with core advantages of aseptic high efficiency, stable operation and long service life, specially tailored for the two mainstream barrel sizes: 3-gallon (11.36 L) and 5-gallon (18.9 L).

The equipment is primarily developed for reusable PC barrels, while also compatible with disposable barreled water production. Optimized barrel washing and sanitizing procedures are adopted to thoroughly remove limescale, dirt and microorganisms inside recycled barrels, guaranteeing consistent safety compliance for every production batch. It can be directly connected to our self-developed pretreatment systems for mineral water and purified water, forming an integrated complete line combining water treatment and barreled filling.

Process Flow

The 3–5 gallon barreled water filling line features an integrated layout with seamless connection across every procedure from empty barrel handling to finished palletizing. The workflow is optimized specifically for barreled water manufacturing to ensure smooth and high-efficiency operation. Key process modules are detailed as follows:

  • 1. Automatic Barrel Loading System

A dedicated empty barrel loader automatically sorts, lifts and conveys empty barrels, delivering them accurately to the washing station via anti-slip conveyors. The conveying speed is adjustable and synchronized with barrel washing and filling speeds to eliminate barrel jamming, tipping and missing feeding, greatly improving loading efficiency. A barrel positioning device ensures accurate docking at the washing station and prevents incomplete cleaning.

  • 2. Barrel Washing & Sanitizing Section

A multi-station high-pressure barrel washer is configured for reusable PC barrels, executing four sequential processes: high-pressure alkaline washing, high-pressure water rinsing, ozone disinfection and sterile final rinsing. The inner barrel wall, bung mouth and neck are fully flushed and sanitized to achieve zero bacteria and no residual disinfectant inside barrels.

For disposable barrels, the washing sequence can be simplified with enhanced disinfection procedures to match diverse production requirements. An internal air drying function is equipped to eliminate residual water that may compromise filling quality.

  • 3. Precision Filling Section

Sanitized empty barrels are transported to the filling station and locked in place by an automatic positioning fixture. Filling valves perform fixed-volume dosing according to preset parameters, with real-time liquid level monitoring to ensure identical volume in every barrel. Upon filling completion, barrels are automatically transferred to the capping station to avoid liquid overflow and secondary contamination.

The filling sequence is optimized to balance high line speed and precise volume control. An overflow alarm system triggers immediate equipment shutdown in case of abnormal conditions.

  • 4. Capping & Sealing Section

Equipped with an automatic cap sorting and feeding system paired with a high-precision capper, it supports two dedicated sealing types for water barrels: tamper-evident metal caps and plastic press caps. The capping torque is finely adjustable to achieve tight, leak-free sealing without damaging the barrel bung caused by excessive tightening, improving sealing integrity and extending product shelf life.

A capping inspection unit automatically identifies and rejects uncapped or poorly sealed barrels to guarantee finished product qualification rate.

  • 5. Light Inspection & Foreign Object Detection Section

After filling and sealing, a professional light inspection machine automatically detects foreign particles, sediment, liquid leakage and contaminants inside barrels, with defective products automatically diverted and rejected. The system also carries out exterior inspection to check barrel damage, deformation and label detachment, ensuring neat appearance and qualified product quality.

Upon customer request, an inkjet coding module can be added to print production batch numbers, shelf life and manufacturer information for full product traceability.

  • 6. Finished Product Palletizing & Discharge

Qualified barrels after inspection are sent to the palletizing station via anti-slip conveyors. Matched with an automatic palletizer, finished barrels are stacked and bundled neatly and stably for convenient warehousing and long-distance transportation, drastically cutting manual labor costs and boosting overall line efficiency.

A finished goods buffer zone is installed to avoid product accumulation and collision damage. Customizable stacking height and quantity are available according to clients’ workshop layout and space conditions.
